Alejandro Aguilar:

My name is Alejandro Aguilar I am 15 years old I started working at SEEDS in March and I worked hard and made it to the second succession. SEEDS is a great place and a great work place. It doesn’t really seem like a work place but a family coming together growing, having fun while doing it. SEEDS is a great work place and a fun place to be.

Antoinette Green:

My name is Antoinette Green. I am 14 years old and I like to play basketball. My favorite food is baked potatoes. I go to hillside new tech high school I am about to be a sophomore. I want to be a guidance counselor. The goals I want to accomplish at D.I.G are to learn a lot about gardening. Other things I want to accomplish are growing something new. I would mostly like to just accomplish trying something different and actually like it.

Avery Rodgers:

My name is Avery Rodgers I go to Hillside New Tech. I am going to the tenth grade. I have been living in Durham all my life. This is my first job and it seems like it will be fun. I would like to become healthier and have better eating habits for me and my family. I would also like to become more eco-friendly. Things like how to dispose of trash. I just might be able to have my own garden.

Darrik Bell:

My name is Darrik Bell and I was born in El Paso, Texas. I am 15 years old and I will be a sophomore at Northern High. I wrestled for Riverside High this year. I like to spend time outside a lot. I can never stay in the house, I get bored really quick. I am a big fan of all sports but I am not a big fan of school. My favorite color is green. My favorite NFL team is the Indianapolis Colts and my favorite NBA team is the Phoenix Suns. My goal in the next 12 weeks is to learn how to plant my own food. My other goal is to eat healthy foods and become healthier. Also to learn from this experience and make SEEDS a better working place.

Destiny Robinson:

Hello my name is Destiny Robinson I am 16 going on 17. I go to Northern High where I am an honor student. I was promoted into the year long. Since I have been a part of the program I have grown tremendously in my character, personality, and every other aspect of my life. All I can say is come check us out at the Durham Farmers Market or come volunteer on a Saturday! My goal is to continue to grow as an individual and learn about food justice. I can’t to continue to grow in maturity. Keeping my personal life outside of work. I love my job and I plan on keeping it.

Fabian Burch:

My name is Fabian Burch, I am 17 years old. I have been at SEEDS for 4 years now. In time I have learned many skills and talents and a lot of information on sustainability, organic foods, and business skills. I am also a year round member, with the role as market manager. The market is my strength and I have learned a lot along the years.

Jeremy Farrell:

Hi my name is Jeremy Farrell. I go to Riverside High. I play basketball and I like working at SEEDS and working with other people and in the garden. I want to go to Duke or Durham Task and getting an A in school and on homework. I also want to work on keeping my seatbelt on in the SEEDS truck, and to be on time.

Jerod Lassiter:

My name is Jerod Lassiter and I am 15 years old. Things I would like to learn in the garden are ho to grow things. I am a Scorpio. My favorite color is green. I like long walks on the beach. I want to be a fire-fighter when I grow up. I want to accomplish in the next 12 weeks are to learn better leadership skills, and teamwork. Something else I would like to do is see my plants grow.

Keyoni Lewis:

Hi my name is Keyoni Lewis and I go to southern high school. I like to do a lot of things like; got to the mall, hang-out with friends and go out to eat. I like to try new things to see if I am going to enjoy them. All the experiences that I have been taking I have happened to like. I expect to know everything about plants. Knowing how to take care of them and treat them. 

Krystal Shelby:

My name is Krystal Shelby, my friends call me Krissy. I have been working with D.I.G for 3 years now. I love working with D.I.G it’s a good job experience for the youth if you are interested in gardening and food. 

Latasha McMillan:

I am 17 years old this is my third year in the D.I.G program. I can’t even remember how I got through the blistering summers and gruesome winters but I did and it was worth it. With my last year approaching I plan on taking from D.I.G gardening skills and workmanship. D.IG is a great first job; you get opportunities that many people don’t get at 14 and 15 years old.

Quinton Dorsey:

My name Quinton and I am 16 going on to the 10th grade. I am from Durham, N.C. when I was 2 years old I moved in with my dad in V.A. where I lived for three years. I moved back to Durham when I was 6. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister and I am the oldest. During my spare time I like to play football or exercise. I have many goals to achieve during a 12 week time span. I hope at the end of this job experience. I will learn a lot and succeed in making SEEDS a better learning environment. Another goal is to keep up good grades, get more education, and better myself.

Sharada Fazard:

My name is Sharada Fozard-McCall. I am 16 years old. I have been with SEEDS a year.I have learned many skill and knowledge. I get to think a lot about sustainability and food justice. I am also learning about leadership and team building, trusting and working together. This year I am going to RIC in Maine to learn about farming and more about food justice. I am also a member of the year round crew and I am responsible for teaching, making presentations that develop my public speaking, and motivating others. I am still kind of new to this but with practice and time I will be better for SEEDS.

Vianey Martinez:

My name is Vianey Martinez, I’m 14 years old. I have been at seeds for about 3 months. I have learned many skills and knowledge about the garden. I’ve also made tremendous progress on my public speaking skills and leadership skills. I’m looking forward to being a year round member, to learned more about the garden, and to learn new skills.
