Community Gardening

Our Community Garden Program

The Community Gardening program encourages Durham residents to produce their own food by providing growing space, advice, tools, and other resources.  We believe in building community through the shared experience of gardening.

We have a total of 25 spaces that we rent out every year at a cost of $1-35 (sliding scale). We give priority to people from our neighborhood and those on a limited budget. However, we do encourage everyone who is interested or in need of gardening space to apply.

Download a community gardening application.

Read information we give to our incoming community gardeners.

Please send the application to Hilary Nichols by email (below), mail to 706 Gilbert St. Durham, NC 27701, or drop it by the office no later than January 15.

If you have any questions, please contact Hilary Nichols at 683-1197 or hnichols@seedsnc.org

See you in the garden!
