Davidson Sustainability Scholars Volunteer with SEEDS Community Gardeners

Published Monday, Jul 13, 2015

On July 11th in the 90 degree temperatures, 17 Sustainability Scholars from Davidson College devoted 3 hours of their Saturday afternoon to working in the SEEDS community garden. This was a wonderful opportunity for the community gardeners to weed vacant plots and pathways.  Jeff Mittelstadt is the Director of Sustainability at Davidson College, and is currently managing 15 Scholars and a Fellow over the summer in connection with the Sustainability Program at Davidson.  One of the Scholars is working at SEEDS this summer, drafting an Operational Sustainability Plan. Jeff is also a volunteer at SEEDS. Joe St. James Lopez is the Fellow who is helping Jeff coordinate the volunteers. Community gardeners  Nicole Hogan, Aisha Sanders, and Maureen Kurtz also pitched in.

The SEEDS Community Gardeners truly appreciate the hard work of this outstanding group!
