Do you have a child:
•    Entering 1st-5th grade next school year?
•    Who likes animals, cooking, and playing games outdoors?
•    Who is curious about gardening?
•    Who loves the Earth and wants to take care of it?
•    Who is looking for a great camp to go to this summer?

Then check out Summer SEEDlings, the affordable half-day summer camp at SEEDS!

Summer SEEDlings is one of the most exciting camps in town, where children get a chance to explore our two-acre garden, practice growing and cooking their own food, observing bugs, birds, and other garden critters, and much more! They'll meet other kids from across Durham, as well as our awesome summer volunteers and the always-cool SEEDS staff. They will play games outside and inside, make crafts, and learn new ways to enjoy and take care of the Earth.

2012 Camp Themes are:

WEEK 1 (June 18-22th)
"Grow It, Cook It, Eat It!"

Become a Gardener and a Chef all in one week!  Spend the week planting seeds, harvesting vegetables, cooking garden food, watching worms, holding chickens, and exploring the secrets of the urban garden.

WEEK 2 (June 25-June 29) "Martial Arts and Animals"

Snapping Turtle Stance, Great Blue Heron Spear, Snake Fist and many other techniques are featured in this unique movement camp that introduces martial arts and the animals that inspired the movement.

WEEK 3 (July 9-13) "Earth SuperHeroes"

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Earth SuperHeroes! Kids will learn to use their super-powers to save the Earth in this ecology-based camp.  Campers will utilize the garden environment to observe the cycles of nature, the inter-dependence of plants and animals, and the importance of taking care of our planet.

WEEK 4 (July 16-20) "The Prehistoric Garden"

What is a Dinosaur plant? What did prehistoric animals eat? Campers unravel the mysteries of prehistoric plants and animals as they act out the duties of a junior paleontologist.

Space is limited, so register as soon as possible.

Application deadline is May 14
