First Frost Saturdays
Persimmons are said to be sweetest in the fall after the ‘first frost’! Join us and our beautiful persimmon tree to find a little sweetness this fall as the temperatures dip. Kids will experience autumn in the garden and learn about what grows well in cooler temperatures and how gardeners prepare for the winter ahead. Saturdays are a great opportunity for little gardeners to partake in fun activities, such toasty bonfires and gathering herbs for hot tea. They’ll get creative using pumpkins, persimmons, and sweet potatoes in the kitchen with our Chef Educator. You may register for just one or all Saturday events in the series.
Saturday, October 7, 9:00-11:00am: Fall Gardening 101, Gorgeous Greens & Spiced Herbal Tea
Saturday, November 4, 9:00-11:00am: Winter Gardens, Persimmons, Soup-Making & Bonfire
Saturday, December 2, 9:00-11:00am: Quiet Observation, Winter-Themed Nature Crafts & Pumpkin Bread
Teacher Workdays and School Holidays
When school’s out, children at SEEDS will spend all morning outdoors in our vegetable garden and all afternoon learning to cook with our Chef Educator, using produce they harvest with their very own hands.
