Squirrel & Nut Art Collective — Art Journaling Lunch Break

  • SEEDS 706 Gilbert Street Durham United States (map)

Join us for a "long lunch" hour of friendly social time with art journaling activities. The Fool's Journey -- April "Art Journal Lunch Break" The Fool is the first card in the Tarot deck. The "fool" himself represents the "Everyperson" character: they are the fairytale Jack who journeys to find their fortune, the wanderer, pilgrim, quest-er and questioner. The Fool's card represents new beginnings, optimism, and intuition. The fool in medieval courts was the only person allowed to tell the king that he was just plain wrong.
We'll design a tarot-card style page, and reflect on journeys, quests, and fairytale wisdom. We'll have a short demo on how to sketch out human proportions, and we'll have a big stash of stencils for doing the framework designs around the edges.
