 We have very exciting news.

Over the past year, SEEDS has been reflecting with parents, neighbors, partner organizations, ourselves and others about the question “What is the highest and best use of SEEDS for Durham?” After much thought, we have decided to become a garden school with integrated pathways that foster grade level learning and experiences to support youth becoming leaders. Focused on growing youth leaders, we will use the garden and kitchen as the canvas for our work.
This means we will be creating a new middle school program to link the youth programs we currently have!! The Children’s Programs and DIG Program will evolve into an integrated model where all youth are working together to become leaders through gardening and growing food. Ultimately youth in our programs will grow into confident, skilled, resourceful adults who have the tools to lead within their own communities.
We want to cordially invite you to an open public meeting on October 22 at 11 am at SEEDS (please RSVP). We will share with you the changes we expect in the near and distant future and answer your questions.
This is the same day as the Fall Plant Sale . So swing by at 10 am to pick up useful plants, pollinators, annuals and perennials for your fall garden, then join the conversation at 11 am! We will also keep your posted through our newsletter and social media.
We appreciate you and all the ways you keep us moving forward, whether through volunteering, donating financial resources, or helping us make connections throughout Durham. Thank you for joining us on this journey forward.
Stay tuned for more updates!
