Grafting Workshop and Scion Exchange 1/28/17

Published Friday, Dec 16, 2016

Saturday, January 28th, 2017 . 11am FREE.
Learn how to create fruit trees growing multiple varieties. Introduce new fruit options to a crowded yard. We’ll show you how to attach multiple kinds of fruit to existing plants. For those with fruit trees you want to graft onto, please bring a some “scions” (twigs) of your plants to exchange with other participants. The more plant varieties people bring– the better! Grafting is the process by which a piece of one kind of plant is attached to a different kind of plant (such as a Fuji apple twig on a Gala apple tree). The exchange includes a grafting demonstration that will show you how to graft and what plant combinations will be successful. We will do some grafts on the fruit trees growing at SEEDS. Participants are encouraged to revisit to check on their grafts.
Held at SEEDS 706 Gilbert Street, Durham, NC. 27701. For more information visit: http://trianglefruitandnutgrowers.weebly.com/scion-exchange.html or contact:  Suzemsh@gmail.com
