About DIG

About the DIG Program

DIG is a youth-driven, urban farming and leadership development program. This program is available to currently enrolled high school students. The DIG crew work together to accomplish meaningful work that impacts their community, such as maintaining the garden, managing the market garden and farm stand, participating in workshops, cooking healthy meals for one another, increasing food access in their neighborhoods, and engaging in leadership and team building activities.

The DIG Summer program runs Monday – Friday 9am to 12pm and Saturday 8am – 1pm.  The DIG Fall/Spring program will run after school hours.

Each youth member is paid a starting wage of $10/hour for their work at SEEDS, with room to advance based on performance. DIG Crew Members will work outside in most weather, tending our vegetable beds, harvesting produce, packing produce bags, and preparing their own meals!
If you are interested in applying to be a part of our DIG Crew, and you are a youth currently enrolled in high school, please email info@seedsnc.org for more information.
