Volunteer / Service Learning

There are many ways to get involved – and get your hands dirty – at SEEDS!

Volunteer with Youth After School

SEEDS seeks dedicated volunteers to work with K – 8 youth in our After-School Program! We seek people with a curiosity and passion for farming, cooking, youth development, or tutoring skills to support our staff in delivering our empowering programming. These volunteer opportunities are Monday – Friday starting at approximately 3:00 PM. We ask that you are able to commit to at least one day per week for a whole semester. We have particular needs for volunteers Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this coming semester. Bilingual volunteers needed! For questions or more information, email Herb at hthornton@seedsnc.org.

Adult Farm Incubator Volunteering

Although SEEDS’ Mission is primarily concerned with Youth, we want to have an opportunity for Adults to come and learn here as well. Through our Incubator opportunity, you will have a small plot of land on the SEEDS property to grow your own vegetables, in exchange for doing a weekly chore (which will vary). Time-commitment is about an hour per week.
